This year sixth grade students will have half a year of Spanish and half a year of French. Seventh grade students will have German and Chinese language classes this year. Eighth grade students will have a full year of Spanish.
This week students learned about the traditions and customs for El Dia de los Muertos - Day of the Dead. El Dia de Los Muertos is a celebration that takes place in Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala and parts of the United States. The lives of loved ones who have passed are honored in a very unique way. Students contrasted the differences between Halloween and El Dia de Los Muertos. They also made posters advertising the items needed to celebrate this holiday. On Friday we will make and eat calaveras de azucar (sugar skulls).
Noticias: Students are expected to complete their homework assignments on time. For every three homework assignments that are missed, a student's grade will drop by one level.
